Ohio State DT Dre'Mont Jones Declares for 2019 NFL Draft

This interior defensive line class is absolutely loaded, and one of the better underclassmen announced he will be leaving school early to enter the 2019 NFL Draft on Wednesday. Dre'Mont Jones, Ohio State defensive lineman announced via his twitter account that he will be forgoing his senior season at Ohio State to enter the NFL Draft.

Measuring in at 6-foot-2 295-lbs, Jones has ideal size, quickness, and explosiveness to excel as a penetrating interior defensive lineman. Jones will fit best in 4-3 schemes as disruptive 3-technique due to his snap quickness, pass rush ability, and the ability to live in the backfield. In 2018 (junior year), Jones finished the year with 8.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, and 40 total tackles. Over his three year span at Ohio State, Jones finished with 9.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, and 111 total tackles. Jones will have some questions regarding his ability to play the run, but NFL teams are starting to care less and less about defending the run, and getting after the quarterback. Dre'Mont Jones is an ascending player with all the tools you could ask for to turn into a very productive player at the next level.

I talk a lot about the NFL Draft and the Dallas Cowboys. I plan on talking a lot more.
