RB Devin Singletary NFL Draft Profile - FAU

Devin Singletary might be the smallest guy in this years draft class, but he is all heart and agility,

Devin Singletary
Class Year: Junior
Height - 5'9" Weight - 200 lbs
Twitter: @motorsingletary
Combine Results:
40 Yard Dash – 4.66 seconds
Bench Press – 15 Reps (225 lbs)
Vertical Jump – 35.0 Inches
Broad Jump – 117.0 Inches
3 Cone Drill – 7.32 Seconds

For his size, short, Singletary is incredibly elusive. He slips through gaps and continues to make yards. His lateral agility makes him a threat every time he has the ball. Powerful legs give him the ability to make yards after contact. His body control, balance, and width make him hard to stop. He shows smooth cuts and great downfield vision. At Florida he had an incredible workload, so isn’t afraid of getting the ball time and time again.

He is a slippery character who cannot be taken lightly. There will be problems if you do.

Long speed. He is quick on his initial burst but slows down after 3 or 4 steps. Could probably be chased down by a defensive lineman if he was in space.

He needs to develop his game more. As an Owl, he didn’t get a lot of chances to catch balls. This would help his game to grow. It would probably put him in the first or second round.

For his size, he should be able to outrun almost anyone.

Overall Review:

He was used a lot as a zone runner, which is good. But he needs to grow his game if he is to be an RB1 on an NFL franchise. At the moment, he would work well in a dual RB system or as a stop gap player.

Look for him to go late third or early fourth round.
