Mississippi State DE Montez Sweat Officially Accepts 2019 Reese’s Senior Bowl Invite

The two most important positions at the NFL level is the guy who throws the football, and the guy who tries to tackle the guy throwing the football. The NFL Draft will soon know Montez Sweat’s name, but the Reese’s Senior Bowl will get to know him first. Shaquan “Montez” Sweat has made it official. The Mississippi State Bulldog announced via Twitter he has accepted his invitation to the 2019 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The game just got even more interesting.

Originally a Michigan State Spartan he left there in 2016, did a stint at Copiah-Lincoln Community College then transferred from there to Mississippi State after turning down offers from LSU and A&M. Sweat is interesting prospect with great physical and athletic traits that will make him a hot commodity come draft time. At 6-foot-6, 241-lbs, Sweat has the size, length, and speed to be a difference maker at the next level. In his two years at Mississippi State, Sweat raked up an impressive stat line. In 25 games at State, the 6-foot-6 pass rusher finished with 23 sacks, 30 tackles for loss, and 103 total tackles. Sweat’s tape is already good enough to land him in the first round, but a productive week down in Mobile, will only help his chances of landing in the top 32 picks of the 2019 NFL Draft.

I talk a lot about the NFL Draft and the Dallas Cowboys. I plan on talking a lot more.
