Memphis RB Darrell Henderson Jr Declares for 2019 NFL Draft

Who doesn’t love running backs? The NFL certainly does, and they’ll be getting a good one in Memphis EB Darrell Henderson Jr. Hender announced via his twitter account on Wednesday that he will be leaving the University of Memphis early to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

Henderson is a very interesting evaluation. At 5’9″ 200-lbs, Henderson is built like a bowling bowl and does similar damage. In 2018, Henderson rushed for 1,909 yards on 214 carries, and scored 22 times out of the Memphis backfield. Henderson also added 295 receiving yards, on 19 receptions, and scored three times catching the football out of the backfield. In his three years at the University of Memphis, Darrell Henderson carried the football 431 times for 3,545 yards (8.2 YPC), and 36 touchdowns. Henderson has the opportunity to be one of the first running backs selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, but will need to have a good showing at the combine to put some answers to some of the questions evaluators/scouts have regarding his athletic ability. Any way you look at it, Darrell Henderson Jr is set up to be very successful at the next level given his production, size, and running style.
