Scharping is one of the biggest humans that ever lived. AT 6’6” and over 320 lbs, he is a monster of a man to come up against. A versatile guy who can play guard or tackle. He is surprisingly athletic for such a big man. Produces good leverage at the line and uses his body well. A calm head and good footballing IQ will help him make the step into the NFL.

Great anchor with the ability to run players around in the arc will see him on everyone’s radar.

Despite being a big man he something lacks the ability to use his size to his advantage, as a result, he has limited upside in zone blocking. Poor foot quickness could see him as a better guard in the NFL. He needs to work on his lateral movement in the line. Seems sluggish at times.

Inside counters hurt him the most. Once he pushes his weight to the outside its all over for him when a guy takes him on the inside.

Scharping, playing LG, does a tremendous job to hold up his opponent for the QB to get the pass away

Korey Stringer

Overall Review:

At the NFL level, he will be a better Guard, with the right coaching. At the moment he will provide depth for the right franchise.

Look for him on the third day of the Draft. Round 4.
