Coney’s technique is pretty good. He stays low, eyes up and has good form. He is an incredibly tough competitor who tackles strong. He has great range and is very athletic. But that is about it.
He lacks explosiveness, has no natural instincts and therefore has to react to plays and is often a step behind. He struggles in space and will often be found out when not being in the right position.
Coney pushes off an opponent and makes a low tackle.
N/A – He probably isn’t good enough.
He will be valuable for early downs or short yardage situations in the NFL. Possibly in a rotation policy and of course, Special Teams ace. He has limitations and could slip a fair way down the order due to this.
